Keeping cool in the winter? What? Confused? I guess the title is a little misleading since this post will actually help you stay warm this winter and many winters to follow, but you see, this post will also help you do so with the coolest outerwear. So essentially, keeping you cool in the winter. And isn't that the best part?
Cool outerwear (that will actually keep you warm) is sometimes harder to come by since warmth is often incorporated into a down jacket in marshmallow form. Did that make sense? I hope so, it sure makes sense to me. Anyway, here are my favorite jackets of ze moment that I wish were hanging in my closet. In no particular order, it's too hard to choose.
Leave it to Alexander Wang to make the sickest ski jacket ever. Metallic tweed panels, leather elbow pads, leather shoulder panels, and a removable raccoon fur hood... the description alone sounds so sick. This jacket is perfect for the slopes or as an everyday jacket when the temperature really drops. And it is infinitely better than your typical Moncler or Canada Goose. That's just my opinion though. Quantities appear to be a bit limited at the moment so check either here or here or here for it!
Navy parka with black leather sleeve trimmings and a black fur hood... I told you navy and black look awesome together! This parka by Maje is so MAJE! And by maje I mean major, incase there's any confusion. There really are no other words to describe it. Simple and chic in a flattering silhouette.
Can you tell I'm a big fan of the parka silhouette? This down jacket by Woolrich is not only cute but guaranteed to keep you warm in the winter. No marshmallows necessary. It's available in black, navy, or army green so take your pick!
And last but certainly not least, Patterson J. Kincaid's olive military style jacket. So much like the beauty I once had and an adequate replacement me thinks. What I love about this jacket is its versatility, it's always a plus when you can wear something multiple ways. Its fleece interior vest will keep you warm in the cooler months but once it gets warm you can remove it and ta-da! You have a light-weight jacket! You also have a vest that can be worn individually. Overall, a win-win situation.
Stay cool Chicistanis!
