Forgive me for the cliché title but I just couldn’t help it. I’m mad for plaid! There are so many great plaid things out right now. My favorite way (and your best bet) of incorporating it into my (your) wardrobe is with mens inspired button downs. They’re so wearable it’s crazy! You can wear them year-round and for any occasion. Although I usually wear mine during the day, when going to class or running errands, you can definitely dress them up for a night out. Add a chunky statement necklace (think Dannijo) and some wide leg jeans, my favorite are J Brand’s Lovestory, and you’re all good to go! Easy enough, no? Below are my favorite plaid picks of the moment.
Vow. There is so much to be said about the above pieces. Let's start with the outerwear. Coat by United Bamboo, Cape by Steven Alan, Jacket by Rag and Bone. All great options to throw over a plain top. And speaking of tops, I've included a bunch because like I said before, I think they're the most wearable. Although some of them are a bit pricey, for the amount of use they'll get, it's worth it. It's all about price per use, people! At least that's my justification. From left to right: Étoile Isabel Marant, J Crew, Étoile Isabel Marant, Carven, Suno, Boy by Band of Outsiders. If you find your bottom half craving for plaid these Current/Elliott jeans are perfect and I am beeyooondd obsessed with this Opening Ceremony skirt (it has a cute litto slit in the front which you can't see). I've had my eye on this skirt for a while but my shopping instincts tell me it's going to go on sale so, I'm holding off till then. If you're not big on plaid, accessories like shoes and scarves are a great way to get a little peak of it in your outfit. The scarf is from Yarnz and I love it because it's mixed with leopard, obviously. There are more colors to choose from but I couldn't get a hold of pictures, click here for my favorite one. The shoes are Christian Louboutin and Mod Cloth.
Last but not least, what's a post without some sweet street style inspiration?
