NYFW is off to a promising start and as always, there is so much to look forward to come fall. Here are my favorite looks from yesterday's shows beginning with Derek Lam's 10 Crosby fall look book featuring Hanne Gaby Odiele.
There's a whole lotta goodness in Derek Lam's most recent look book. First the polka dot palazzo pants but then wait, picture number two. There is something so special about the way that red leather skirt is layered over that vintage printed dress. The fact that you still see a little bit of the dress coming out at the bottom really sealed the deal for me. That fabulous Carrie B fur coat layered over the mint one doesn't hurt either. Also music to my ears or I guess beauty to my eyes(?), black sheer maxi skirts are here to stay... yes.
Are you thinking the same thing I'm thinking? Burgundy and navy burgundy and navy burgundy and navy. Ahh, such a good combo but what
probably stole the show yesterday at BCBG Max Azria were definitely all the fur accented goodies. That green, furry, leather sleeved coat on the right is my favorite.
And then there was Cynthia Rowley who kept the burgundy and navy combo going. I'm so happy to see the duo getting the love it deserves. I'm also happy to see that burgundy will continue to be such a big color next fall. Also, menswear inspired coats, in navy and green tartan too -- I need.
Richard Chai Love does prints so well. Their palazzo and sheer nature make them even better. Oh, and make sure to note that grey menswear inspired coat.
Well Chicistanis, I don't know how but I just managed to finish this post at the same time that my class ended. Nice. Anyway, there's day 1 for ya. Happy Friday!
