NYFW Day 3 and 4

So sooner ended up turning into later but my second recap covering the next two days of shows is finally hurr beginning with Jill Stuart.

The lovely lace and feminine frills were my favorite part of the show. I loved that the conservative silhouettes were tastefully sexified via said lace and frills with the help of what might as well be transparent textiles.

Even more frills made their way down the runway at Prabal Gurung's show in the form of a sheer blouse and a beautiful gown which really reminded me of Belle's ball gown (from The Beauty and the Beast). After googling it I realized there are more differences than similiarities between them but whateva. Also on the runway, lots of white and reds. I love the athletic vibe the mesh inserts and big sleeves give the first dress and that satin embroidered suit is awesome.

Next came Edun's collection which is pretty much everything I love to wear during the summer time. A military inspired or masculine shaped vest over something flirty and girly, strappy sandals, and olive green is a go all year round. Besides flouncy skirts, I'm looking forward to owning more skirts like the one pictured last. Fitted around the waist and hips with a flaire hem, this skirt really reminds me of one I purchased over the summer at H&M that I just can't get enough of. Definitely need.

Boy by Band of Outsiders continues to make the best casual yet chic clothing. Any of the above pieces can be worn out and about during the day and a bit fancier at night with the right shoes and accessories. For example, the last outfit I would wear during the day with either black flats or sandals and a big ass purse which I would switch for an embellished clutch come night time. On my feet would be these strappy Alaia sandals of my dreams.

Alexander Wang kills it once again with another collection of ridiculously cool and innovative garments. It kind of reminds me of Tron in a way, no? For a label that is usually more focused on menswear inspired pieces, Mr. Wang designed some kick ass, and not to mention sexy, dresses.

Remember when I tweeted that tieing my shirts around my waist gave me a really awesome idea and I had to go to my dad's house? Well DKNY put my thoughts into a skirt and for that, it is on the list. Also really awesome at DKNY was the outfit pictured at left featuring a leather trimmed bralette because why the hell not?
