Made for Walking

Before this past weekend, I never gave over the knee boots much thought. Except for of course when Miranda Kerr made those Givenchy ones look insane last season, but was it the boots or was it just her? Regardless, they never seemed quite for me. I've always thought they were hard to wear slash pull off, and although I sometimes still feel that way, Kate Moss inspired me to give them a try.

So give them a try I did at the premiere of Stuart Weitzman's "Made for Walking" event in NYC over the weekend. I mean, how could I not after watching that video? How ridiculously ridiculous, in a great way, does Kate Moss look? As soon as I tried on my pair and looked in the mirror, it was like it was meant to be.

Jacket: Sandro, sweater and necklace: J. Crew, skirt: Zara, Boots: Stuart Weitzman.

The next day I wore them with a sack-like black button-down dress. Although I don't doubt that these would look really cute paired with jeans and an oversized sweater, I decided my favorite way to wear the 5050's is with shorts, dresses, or skirts. It's flirty without bearing too much leg, and I swear that naked skin between your knees and upper thighs gives you the same kind of boost wearing high-heels does. Except instead you're in flats! And really comfortable! Hooray! Back to the event though, below are some more pictures of the night:

And me! Alongside Anna dello Russo, Chiara Ferragni, Olivia Palermo, Shea Marie, Natalie Suarez, and Kate the great on Stuart Weitzman's website. What a surreal site (pun ooooobviously intended).
