Louis Vuitton Cruise 2016

Ever since Nicolas Ghesquière joined Louis Vuitton it's been nothing but grand things for the french maison. It boggles my mind how a designer who has such a signature aesthetic can create designs that are at the same time so identifiable of someone else. That was hard to write. Not even sure it made sense, but what I'm trying to say is that new Louis Vuitton is just as much Nicolas Ghesquière as it is the good old Louis we've always known and loved. Ya feels?

Anyway, the cruise collection was - and please forgive me I hate using expressions like this but there are just no other words - to die for. Between the ambiance, the scenery, and one very drool worthy estate of Bob Hope, I was oohing and aahing all over my screen. There's a lot of greatness to digest so I think the only way to take on such a task is to break out in sections. An outline of what I loved, if you will.

Number 1 - Belts cum harnesses cum not belts at all but still cool AF.

Number 2 - The jackets, duke! The jackets! Old school biker jackets with a futuristic feel, yes please.

Number 3 - Texture play.

Number 4 - Hot pants -- er, shorts. Can we call these shorts? Obsessed either way.

Number 5 - Unconventional layering. I've been really into layering white tees underneath crop tops but this takes it to a whole other level that I most definitely want to be a part of.

Also, not to be forgotten, the petite malle handbags of the season. Insert mad heart-eyed emojis here.
